4 'R' Program for Digestive Health

4 'R' Program for Digestive Health

4 'R' Program for Digestive Health

A healthy body starts with a healthy gut. Almost 2, 000 years ago, our father of medicine, Hippocrates stated, “All disease begins in the gut.” This link has long been overlooked for the underlying root cause of dis-ease for people. Unknowingly, many of us with concerns about autoimmune disorders such as arthritis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, as well as other concerns such as diabetes, fibromyalgia, depression and autism have all links traced back to our digestive system. Our gut contains billions of little creatures (flora) maintaining an environment that allows us to defend against harmful toxins and to ensure we are properly assimilating and absorbing the nutrients we ingest. This ensures we are well looked after; our little bugs are our big helpers. This defense barrier becomes compromised from things like stress, unhealthy eating (refined carbohydrates, sugar, processed foods), antibiotics and other medications such as birth control and NSAIDs. The term “leaky gut” refers to the phenomenon where the digestive tract becomes compromised and allows toxins and even the undigested foods we eat to enter in our blood and cause an immune reaction. Overtime our immune system develops a lack of tolerance to this repeated reaction and starts to attack our own living cells, which is how autoimmune diseases begin. It is our hope that we can treat the root cause of your health concern by addressing your gut health as well.

Dr. Wright ND will provide you with the most recent guidelines and information to help you make informed decisions regarding your gut health.
